Where the other cartoon focused mostly about acceptance, tolerance and that there's a hero in those who are clearly different this show focused more on them already being excepted (for the most part) who were athletes in a sort of Major League of all manner of sports.
This cartoon came out about the time X-Men:TAS, WildCATS and other shows of the like were pouring in.
